'Colby' is a 4 year old 81 lb Chocolate Labrador Retreiver who is walking 8-10 miles every day to help Kid's that are struggling with chronic diseases.
Colby's favorite thing in life is meeting new children (and old friends too) and giving big Doggie kisses to make them feel better. Colby is convinced in his heart that every time he gives out a kiss, a sick child somewhere starts to get better. With your help, we can start to make all sick children well.
Colby is asking for donations based on the number of miles he walks. This May (2009) will be Colby's 4th full year walking, and he will log his 10,000th mile in his effort to help struggling Children and their families.
Colby averages 2750 miles walked every year.
Won't you donate a generous amount based on Colby's mileage. Even a penny a mile could make a huge impact. If Colby could get thousands of people to donate a penny, nickel, dime or dollar based on how far he walks, he is sure he can make a real difference in finding the cure for many childhood diseases.
How much of a difference you ask ? Your donation might just be the amount Colby needs to keep a research scientist in the lab for just one more day. That might be the day he/she discovers the major breakthrough that cures a now potentially fatal childhood disease.
If you'd like to donate a single lump sum amount in support of Colbys efforts, that would be great too !
You can track Colby's mileage on his website http://www.walkingwithcolby.com
If you happen to see Colby walking for kids along the streets of your town, please beep your horn, or call out his name. Colby is always anxious to meet new friends, especially those that want to help his struggling Kid's'
If someone in your family walks or runs,
you can have people donate based on their mileage, and donate through this site too. Just put your name in the memo section of your check, followed by 'Friend of Colby'.
It's a powerful motivator to run, bike,
or walk, even when you might not feel like it today, knowing that your effort
will go to help needy children.
Colby thanks you, and looks forward to seeing each of you along his daily walks.
Colby and Kurt
