Overview
The Trisomy 21 Program at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia was established in 2003 to help children and adults with Trisomy 21 reach their fullest potential. The program's staff of experts includes doctors, nurses, social workers, physical, occupational, and speech therapists. The team performs research and provides comprehensive care for its many patients and their families, including a review of developmental, behavioral, educational, psychosocial and medical issues.
In just ten years, the CHOP Buddy Walk® and Family Fun Day has raised more than $2.1 million for the Trisomy 21 Program. This year's Buddy Walk® will draw approximately 4,000 moms, dads, grandparents and children from the tri-state region of Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. By working together we can make this wonderful event a success. Our goal for 2012 is to raise $250,000 — and we can do it with your help!
The Buddy Walk® was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to nearly 300 walks planned for 2012 worldwide. In 2011, more than $11.2 million was raised nationwide to benefit local programs and services, as well as the national advocacy and public awareness initiatives of NDSS that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome.

In addition to the walk, the day will be filled with great activities for the whole family.

Registration: 9:30 a.m.
Parking is located across the street from the stadium (on Lancaster Avenue).
Disabled access is adjacent to the stadium.
Event Kickoff: 10 a.m.
Walk: 10:45 a.m.
The two-mile family fun walk is optional but a great way to show team spirit is with personalized signs, T-shirts and more.

Something for all ages! Raffles, moon bounces, basketball throw, soccer shoot, singing, dancing, and more!
