Hospital Programs

Patient care remains at the core of the CHOP mission, and it is the hallmark of our history. The work of Children's Hospital specialists has made immeasurable contributions to the fields of cardiology, oncology, gastroenterology, plastic surgery and neurosurgery, among others. 

A cornerstone of CHOP’s excellence in pediatric medicine, and what sets it apart from most other children’s hospitals, is its committed focus on family-centered care. We strive to provide the resources, access, and information to ensure that families are involved as partners throughout the care of a child. 

CHOP’s collaboration with corporations and foundations for our hospital-based programs is often focused on the support of family-centered care programs, such as social work, chaplaincy, temporary housing and financial support, palliative care, survivorship, and a variety of quality of life programs (art therapy, education, play, entertainment, and others) for children admitted to the Hospital.
