Our Stories
Our story began on November 23, 1855, when The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia was established as the first pediatric hospital in the United States. Since then, countless people have participated in a narrative that is still being written: the children and families who come to us for care and treatment, the doctors and nurses who offer compassionate healthcare, the scientists engaged in pioneering research, and the philanthropists who support the Hospital's essential work.
Children's Hospital has touched, and been touched by, many lives—and each has a personal story that enriches our own. We are honored to share some stories about children at the Hospital and generous donors who provide them with the gift of childhood, so their interwoven experiences might touch, console, or inspire even more people with the hope so many find at Children's Hospital.
